This independent research aims to study the relationship between economic development in Northern Thailand and the development of the creative economy in the region, as well as to examine the factors impacting the creative economy industry in Chiang Mai.
The study utilized a Panel Regression Model and gathered data through questionnaires from a sample group of 267 business owners/partners and employees in Chiang Mai. The results revealed that the Gross Provincial Product at constant prices has a positive and statistically significant relationship at the 95% confidence level with the value of the creative economy industry, the labor force in the creative industry, and the budget expenditures under the annual budget act. The study also examined the supporting factors impacting the creative economy industry in Chiang Mai. The overall importance of these supporting factors was found to be moderate, with the demand for goods/services in Thailand having the most significant impact on the creative economy industry in the province. When comparing the differences in the impact levels of supporting factors, the findings show that factors related to technology usage had varying impacts depending on gender, education level, work experience, business experience, and business type. Factors related to market demand had differing impacts based on business type, while tourism-related factors showed varying effects based on education level, business experience, and business type.
